The team at Manhattan Behavioral Medicine has a combined total of over 50 years of research experience.

They are all responsible for regulatory, research and clinical related issues. Dr. Joseph and her team have implemented “No Query Fridays” an industry term first coined by Dr. Joseph’s research team at MBM, during which sponsors are reassured that all queries are closed out before each weekend. They all work closely with sponsors and patients to ensure that research is carried out in a safe, ethical and responsible manner.

Meet Dr. Judith Joseph MD, MBA.

Dr. Judith Joseph, MD, MBA, Principal Investigator at Manhattan Behavioral Medicine, is a pediatric and adult psychiatrist. Dr. Joseph has served as an investigator for over 60 clinical research trials for major pharmaceutical companies and clinical research organizations, including Eli Lilly, Otsuka, Lundbeck, Alkermes, Merck, Boehringer Ingelheim, Aptinyx, T3D, AbbVie, Sunovion, Allergan, Forest, Pfizer, Axovant, Avanir, Takeda, Intracellular, Acadia, Janssen, Sage, Grunenthal, Shire & Supernus. Dr. Joseph is also a Bracket Certified Central Rater. Dr. Joseph’s dedication to patient care comes first and foremost. Dr. Joseph founded Manhattan Behavioral Medicine in order to provide her patients with more treatment options to complex behavioral disorders. Dr. Joseph received her bachelor’s degree in biology and chemistry, cum laude, from Duke University, her medical degree from Columbia University and her business degree from Columbia Business School. Dr. Joseph was an anesthesiology resident at Columbia University NYPH , then subsequently completed her psychiatry residency at Columbia University NYPH. Unlike most psychiatrists, Dr. Joseph is skilled in many procedures such as performing Intravenous lines, lumbar punctures, botox injections, intubations, intramuscular injections, pain procedures and complex phlebotomy procedures. She is a well-respected and renowned psychiatrist and has made over 100 media appearances. Dr. Joseph currently serves as Chairwoman of the Women in Medicine Board at Columbia University Vagelos College of Physicians and Surgeons where she attended Medical School. She also serves on the Board of Several charities and organizations in an effort to decrease stigma about mental health issues.

Dr. Deepa Voleti

Dr. Deepa Voleti, DO

Dr. Deepa Voleti, DO, is a Sub-Investigator at MBM and a Board Certified Pediatric and Adult Psychiatrist. Dr. Voleti received her a bachelor’s degree in biology and chemistry, cum laude, from New Jersey Institute of Technology/Rutgers University, her master’s in biomedical sciences from the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey, and her medical degree from Kentucky College of Osteopathic Medicine. Dr. Voleti completed her residency training at the University of Kentucky and her fellowship training at New York University (NYU) and Bellevue Hospitals. She is a Clinical Assistant Professor in the Department of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry at NYU and teaches the class “Love Actually” to NYU undergraduates. In her spare time, she enjoys playing with her new puppy, traveling the world, listening to live music, and running. She speaks English and Telugu fluently.

Teresa Escobar

Teresa Escobar, RN

Teresa Escobar is the Site Director at Manhattan Behavioral Medicine. She is a Registered Nurse (R.N.). She has a decade long research career at the prestigious New York State Psychiatric Institute/Columbia University Medical Center/New York Presbyterian Hospital. She has co-authoring research journal articles on brain histology based on her work at Columbia. She is also a decorated professional athlete and marathon runner and is bilingual in both written and spoken English and Spanish. Teresa oversees laboratory and clinical operations for Dr. Joseph’s studies as Manhattan Behavioral Medicine’s Site Director. She is highly skilled in psychometric rating scales in both English and Spanish.

Trisha Srigiriraju

Trisha Srigiriraju

Trisha Srigiriraju is a skilled behavioral scientist with an extensive clinical and research background in both behavioral and research psychology. She has a Masters degree in psychology and is pursuing her Doctorate degree. She is a classically trained dancer and is fluent in both English and Hindi. Trisha is a Clinical rater at MBM with vast expertise and experience with pediatric and adult psychometric rating scales.

Kaitlyn Schultz

Kaitlyn Schultz

Kaitlyn Schultz graduated with a Bachelors in Arts in Dance and Psychology from Marymount Manhattan College. She aspires to become a dance therapist. She is HIPAA certified and has various health care certifications, including IATA, GCP, CSSRS training and training in several pediatric and dementia assessments. In her spare time, Kaitlyn enjoys dancing and has traveled with professional dance troupes. Kaitlyn is a recruitment specialist and clinical research coordinator as well as a CTMS analyst at MBM.

Allison Degen

Allison Degen

Allison Degen graduated Summa Cum Laude with a Bachelor’s degree in psychology from NYU. She aspires to become a clinical psychologist. She is HIPAA certified and has various health care certifications, including IATA, GCP, CSSRS & CPR training. She has training in several pediatric and dementia assessments. In her spare time, Allie enjoys hiking and international travel. Allie is a black belt in Tae Kwon Do and speaks English and Conversational French. She is a recruitment specialist and a Lead Clinical Research Coordinator at MBM.

Nikki Joseph

Nikki Joseph

Nikki Joseph, MBA, graduated summa cum laude from University of South Florida with a Master of Business Administration and has a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from NJIT. She is HIPAA certified and has various health care certifications, including IATA & GCP. In her spare time, Nikki enjoys traveling the world and experiencing international cuisines. She speaks conversational Spanish.

Rachel Reifer

Rachel Reifer

Rachel Reifer is a Clinical Research Coordinator Managing Supervisor and patient recruiter at MBM. She graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Public Health Science from the University of Maryland, College Park. She is HIPAA certified and has various health care certifications, including IATA, GCP, CSSRS and CPR. Rachel has been published in academic research at prior research sites. In her spare time, Rachel enjoys spending time with family, playing piano, and traveling. Rachel is fluent in English and speaks conversational Hebrew.

Maria Roberts

Maria Roberts is a clinical research coordinator at MBM. She attended St. John’s University where she pursued a Bachelor of Arts degree in Chemistry. She has a diverse background in healthcare; is HIPAA certified and holds several credentials, including IATA and GCP. In her spare time she enjoys reading and traveling.

Cristopher Arteaga

Cristopher Arteaga is a senior clinical research coordinator and patient recruiter at MBM. He graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from NYU. He is HIPAA certified and has various health care certifications, including IATA & GCP. In his spare time, Cristopher enjoys watching and playing football (soccer) and International travel. Cristopher is fluent in English and Spanish.

Jackie Winge

Jackie Winge is a clinical research coordinator at MBM. She holds a B.A. in Business Management with a minor in Human Resource Management from Middlesex University, London, and is fluent in English, French, and Swedish, with conversational proficiency in German. She has a broad healthcare background and is HIPAA certified, holding various healthcare certifications, including IATA and GCP. In her spare time, she enjoys traveling and yoga.

Talia Gearinger, MPH

Talia Gearinger, MPH, is a Clinical Research Coordinator and Patient Recruiter at Manhattan Behavioral Medicine. She earned her Bachelor’s degree in Brain and Cognitive Science and Psychology from the University of Rochester, as well as a Master of Public Health from the same institution. Talia holds several healthcare-related certifications, including an Advanced Certificate in Analytic Epidemiology, Foundations of Public Health, Community-Based Participatory Research, Good Clinical Practice (GCP), IATA, and CPR/First Aid. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with family, playing sports, and traveling.
